How to Disable Background Apps in Windows 10

Windows 10 operating system is pretty cool, and it comes with load of featured apps. However, there are most built-in background apps in windows 10 that is battery consuming and also data consuming. Disabling those background apps would be quite helpful, at least, they would be inactive, whenever they’re not in use.



Some built-in background apps that windows 10 features includes, Groove Music, Maps, Get Office, Photos, Microsoft Edge, Xbox, Store, etc.

In this guide, I would walk you through the process on how to disable background apps in windows 10.

How to Disable Background Apps in Windows 10

1.       Click on windows 10 start icon.

2.       Then go to settings.

3.       Once you get settings menu, click on “privacy”.

4.       Once you get to privacy menu, you’ll see list of option in the left pane.

5.       From the list of option, scroll down and select “background apps”.


6.       From the right pane, you’ll see list of background apps running, then disable from the list.

That’s it. Use the above steps to disable any app running background. Same process can be applied to apps downloaded from Microsoft store.
