How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Install TWRP Recovery

Learn how to root Samsung galaxy Note 5, and also install twrp recovery on it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 smartphone is an android handset that runs on android 5.1.1 Lollipop from the box, and powered by a Quad-core CPU, Exynos 7420 chipset, Mali-T760MP8 GPU, coupled with 4GB RAM and 32/64GB internal storage memory.

Assuming you purchased a new Galaxy NOTE 5 smartphone, the first operation to click your mind is installing TWRP recovery on the smartphone, and rooting follows.

Installation of TWRP recovery on Galaxy NOTE 5 smartphone renders administrative option on the smartphone, thereby, letting you root the smartphone, and also flash custom roms on the smartphones.

However, once your smartphone becomes rooted, there would be improved RAM management and special apps would be compatible with the smartphone.

In this guide, I would walk you through the process on how to install TWRP recovery and root galaxy NOTE 5 smartphone.

NB: The below guide only works for Galaxy Note 5 N920T and N920P, any model outside this, might brick your device.

How to Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy NOTE 5

Step 1: Download and install Samsung Galaxy NOTE 5 drivers from here, to your PC

Step 2: Enable USB debugging on Samsung Galaxy NOTE 5.

Step 3: After that, download TWRP recovery file from here, and move the downloaded files to the internal storage of Samsung Galaxy NOTE 5 device.

Step 4: After that, Boot your Galaxy NOTE 5 into Download Mode. To perform the operation, you have to power off your device and then press, Volume Down + Power + Home. Press Volume Up now to continue to Download Mode.

Step 5: Once your device is in download mode, simply connect the phone to your PC via the use of USB cable and the ODIN application would notify an added message.

Step 6: After that, choose AP in Odin and select the TWRP Recovery file in which you have downloaded. Also endeavor that the re-partition is not ticked in the odin.

Step 7: Finally, click on the start button, and the process would begin immediately. Once the process is completed, you would notice the RESET or PASS message on the ODIN screen. Then your device would boot into recovery mode, and the device would be restarted automatically.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy NOTE 5 N920T/N920P

-          Firstly, download noble kernel for Galaxy Note 5 N920T here, and that of Galaxy Note 5 N920P here

-     Then enable OEM unlocking, under developers option.

-          After that, use the same Odin application to flash the noble kernel, its similar procedure, used when installing TWRP recovery.

-          Now, reboot your device.

-          Go to Google playstore and download SuperSU.apk, or download from here.

-          After that, update the SU binary if asked (normal update)

That’s it. Your device would be completely rooted. You can make use of root checker app to verify.
