How to Unbrick Any Bricked Xiaomi Device (All Models) & Update Firmware

The installation of Xiaomi stock rom is strictly advisable for bricked Xiaomi android devices, but just in case you still wish to flash your Xiaomi smartphone to default, then I recommend you follow this tutorial.

Apart from unbricking your android device, this tutorial would also help, if you want to update the firmware of your Xiaomi device.



Today’s stroll, I would brief you guys on how to unbrick your bricked Xiaomi device (like, Xiaomi MI 4, MI Note, MI Pad, MI Note Pro, Redmi 2, MI 4I, Redmi Note, MI 3, Redmi 1S, Redmi 1, MI 2A, MI 2/2S, MI 1/1S and any other Xiaomi device) using the recommended stock rom, and also how to update the firmware of your Xiaomi MI 4I device.

NB: Make sure you back up your files before you proceed to the below guide to avoid loss of data.


How to Unbrick All Bricked Xiaomi Device & Update Firmware

-          Firstly, visit Xiaomi official website to download ROM, and then download to your computer.

-          After that, move the downloaded files to the internal storage of your Xiaomi device, and disconnect your device from PC.

-          For Bricked Xiaomi device, simply switch off your device and boot to recovery mode (press and hold Volume Down button + press Power button).

-          Once you get to the recovery mode, simply perform a full system wipe (Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache Partition and then Wipe Dalvik Cache/ART cache from advanced section).

-          After that, go to the recover main menu, then choose install ZIP file, and then select the stock rom Zip file (the one you downloaded in step 1) and install immediately.

-          Once the installation process is completed, simply go back main recovery menu and tap on Reboot system, and your device would be rebooted.

That’s it, your device is unbricked successfully, and back to default. If your device wasn’t bricked, that is, you want to update the firmware, then follow the step 1&2 above and proceed to the below guide.

-          To Update firmware of your Xiaomi device, simply open tools folder and Launch ‘Updater' app on your device

-          After that, tap the Menu key on your device and select installation file.

-          Now, locate the Zip file that you downloaded in step 1 and saved in your device internal memory (according to step 2).



-          Once you’ve selected the file, simply tap the update button to start update process.

-          Once the update process is completed, simply tap “Reboot” to finish the process.
