How to Root Lenovo K3 Note and Install Custom Recovery

Learn how to root Lenovo K3 Note Android smartphone and also how to install TWRP recovery on it.

Assuming you already purchased your Lenovo K3 Note android device, the first thing that should clock your mind as a geek, is rooting your device, and installation of TWRP or CWM recovery follows.


This practice is very important because they help render administrative options to you, as a user, and also helps in terms of flashing of custom roms and also retaining backup via recovery. Rooting your device also has other benefits, like, running of special apps, to free up memory and many other benefits.

In this guide, I would walk you through the process on how to root and install twrp or cwm recovery on Lenovo K3 Note android.

How to Install TWRP Recovery & Root Lenovo K3 Note

1.       Firstly, download ABD/fastboot driver and setup on your computer.

2.       Enable USB Debugging mode from the smartphone. To Enable USB debugging mode on Lenovo K3 Note, simply go to settings >> developers option and enable from there. If the developers option isn’t visible, then go to about phone (under settings menu) and locate build number, and tap on it several times, till it notifies that you’re now a developer. This would enable developer’s option. After that, connect your Lenovo K3 Note to your computer via USB cable. Also download Lenovo drivers here, and install on your computer.

4.       After that, rename the Lenovo K3 Note TWRP or CWM Recovery.img to recovery.img and move to the ADB folder created in the 1st step.

5.       After that, download SuperSU package from here, and move the zip file to your phone.

6.       Now, open the ADB folder that you saved the recovery.img, and open command prompt windows by holding shift, and then right click on an empty space in the ABD folder, just as seen in the image below.

7.       Once the command prompt windows opens, input the below commands and click enter to confirm fastboot action and to flash the TWRP or CWM recovery. Also hit Enter after each commands.
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
8.       Now that you’ve flashed TWRP recovery on your device, then boot to recovery menu so that you can easily flash the SuperSU file – in other to root your device. Simply input the below command to boot device to recovery mode.
fastboot boot recovery.img

9.       Once your device is boot to recovery mode, then tap install button, and flash the SuperSU downloaded in step 5.

10.   Once you’re through, simply reboot your Lenovo K3 Note device.

That’s it. Installation of TWRP OR CWM recovery and rooting of your Lenovo K3 Note is completed.
